Learning The Difference: Compact Temporary And Full-Size Spare Tires

There are a few different types of spare tires, and it's good to be aware of which is which because when you pull off to the side of the road with a flat tire, you are going to want to be on top of your game.

So what is a full-size spare? It's exactly that. A lot of cars have full-sized spares that are the same size as the tires on the vehicle and designed for the type of use as the normal tires. Having said this, once you get to a location where you can repair or replace your punctured tire, it is highly recommended you do so.

What is a compact temporary spare? It's exactly how it sounds. A compact temporary is a tire that is more lightweight and smaller in a dimension that takes up less space when stored in your vehicle. Inflated with more pressure (usually 60 psi) the compact temporary should be used as minimally as possible. If you have any questions, feel free to visit us at Piazza Honda of Springfield.
